The Benefits of Positive Psychology Coaching
When I was in my late 20s, I came across a book that deeply resonated with me. It began with the words, “Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it.”

These words were oddly comforting, reassuring me that life’s challenges are a part of the journey, and we all need to learn how to navigate them, especially when it comes to our mental and emotional well-being.
There are times when life feels great and everything seems to be going well. But there are also times when, despite our best efforts, we find ourselves stuck in what I call the ‘grey zone’—a place where everything feels like an uphill battle. We may be getting by, but we’re far from thriving. At these crossroads, we might need some guidance and support to find new ways to move forward.
What is Positive Psychology?
Positive Psychology is a field that emerged in the 1990s, led by Martin Seligman. He noticed that traditional psychology focused too much on what’s wrong with people, leaving out those who were getting by but not truly flourishing. Positive Psychology is a branch of psychology that shifted the focus to exploring and researching what’s right with people, aiming to help them thrive and live more fulfilling lives.
What is Coaching?
Coaching has evolved over time. It’s no longer just about an expert giving advice; it’s about helping people grow and develop in a way that feels right for them. Coaching is for those who have a goal they want to achieve, or general desire to want to learn more so they can do better in their lives.
How is Positive Psychology Coaching different?
Positive psychology coaching blends the principles of Positive Psychology with the process of coaching. It’s about using proven methods to help you grow, to feel better, and reach your unique potential. This type of coaching focuses on your strengths, will help you set and achieve meaningful goals, build resilience, improve your well-being, and create healthier relationships.
