Workshops FAQs

Discover answers to the questions you forgot to ask about Mindfully Me workshops.

Not found the question you're looking for?

Why is journaling beneficial for mental health?

By offloading your thoughts and feelings onto the page, it can help you step back. By doing this regularly, it helps to process emotions, clear the mind and reduce stress.

How do I start journaling if I’ve never done it before?

We cover what journaling is all about, why it’s helpful, and how to do it. This will give you the information you need to feel inspired to give it a go along with a framework to start journaling or recognise journaling is not for you and that's ok.

Will I have to share what I write about?

No you won’t.  What you write about is personal to you. I often ask ‘the group’ how they found an exercise, and what they noticed.  Sharing and listening to each other helps us learn, or reinforces what we noticed ourselves. Sharing is voluntary and will be completely to you.

What should I write about in my journal?

The workshop will give you small journaling exercises to give writing a go. You will also be given a therapeutic framework for journaling that helps you to feel safe as you write about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I’ve been journaling for a while. Can you give me some journaling techniques to expand my practice?

Yes. The workshop will give you different writing techniques to expand your journaling practice. These can help overcome blocks or resistance, as well as creative flow, and ways to cultivate positive emotions.

How often should I journal to see change?

Consistency is key. If you journal regularly for 10 minutes you will soon begin to notice changes. If you aim to do this 2-4 per week, then if you miss a day it won’t matter. After two weeks of journaling regularly you will feel the benefits and started a healthy new habit.

Can journaling help with specific issues like anxiety or depression?

Yes, journaling is a helpful tool for managing anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. It helps process emotions, reduce stress, and gain perspective on challenges.
