Learning to carve out time for yourself more often to journal will help you to declutter your mind from all that it’s holding onto, helping you to take a step back to cultivate a clearer, more positive mindset.
Research shows us that expressive writing is beneficial for our wellbeing, in particular mental and emotional health. In this workshop you will learn the foundations of creating your own journaling practice and how to harness insights from your writing through reflection.
You’ll be gently guided to:
- Express yourself through the act of writing
- Understand that you don’t need to be good at writing to journal
- Discover different writing techniques to unleash writer’s block
- Learn a journaling framework that will provide containment and structure to your writing
- Explore ways of overcoming obstacles that may prevent you from journaling
- When are the best times to journal
- How to create your own regular journaling practice
Expect to:
- Whilst you will be actively writing as we delve into various writing exercises.
- Rest assured, journaling is a personal process, so you won’t be asked to share what you write about..
- We do reflect on what you notice or observe after completing the writing task, however sharing is optional.
- Come away with different writing methods to try at home
- Feel inspired to start journaling
